Many people take food for granted, however there are many individuals and families that can\u2019t even afford the basics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>My family have suffered trauma after trauma and as a result my mom was forced to give up her career and businesses, making it very difficult to afford the basics:\u00a0 this caused my mom to sacrifice her dignity to stand in lines at food banks and climb into ditches to collect pop bottles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>My mom never gives up; she continues to dig us out of the hole that we were thrown into as a result of the domino affect of trauma.\u00a0 However, the experiences changed us, we wanted to use what happened to us as way to reach others and make a difference.\u00a0 We did a survey in low-income areas and identified that food staples like bread are complete luxuries. Sooo we came up with the idea of BreadHeads:\u00a0 where we would partner with local bakeries and bring bread to low-income areas.\u00a0 My favorite part was seeing faces light up with hope and kids screaming, \u201cthe Bread ladies are here\u201d!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Sometimes the things we take for granted can be someone\u2019s saving grace<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; WHAT IS BREADHEADS: &nbsp; \u00a0A project where bread\u2019s gathered from bakeries and delivered to individuals in need. &nbsp; WHEN\/ WHERE: The active part of this project has ended.
