There are over 35 community chapters in BC and over 175 chapters across Canada. KidSportTM works to fulfill its mission of eliminating the financial barriers to sport participation, ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’ “Kids Sport BC:

There are also Club sport teams that try to help families by keeping prices as low as possible – many do various types of fundraising in addition to helping in other ways

Look for Club teams that offer more than just a “game”.  My family felt  Club teams should be family oriented, providing a sense of belonging:  for example, hosting get-to-togethers, announcing successes athletes, even when they leave the Club, and/or supports activities that an athlete may be involved in
